The Dream Team

Joan Blank
Joan built her business expertise in the Fashion Industry working as a designer, merchandiser, salesperson and owner. She traveled extensively to major domestic and international markets, bringing back new and innovative ideas. Joan received a Masters Degree from N.Y.U. including a minor in psychology and a teaching certificate. After 25 years of a successful career, she returned to school to study Equine Management at Pierce College. While volunteering at a Therapeutic Riding Center, Joan found her passion. Seeing a need that wasn't being met for individuals that live in the Los Angeles basin, Joan decided to launch Dream Catcher of L.A.
Joan is a NARHA Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and has an EAGALA Level 1 certificate.

Lisa Marlowe-Carr is a licensed clinical social worker and NARHA registered therapeutic riding instructor whose passion is helping people maximize their strengths in order to achieve their goals and dreams. She has completed both Pegasus and EAGALA Level I training and is experienced in equine-assisted psychotherapy with both adults and adolescents. Lisa began riding at age 5 and continues to enjoy competing in Hunter/Jumper Shows. She currently works with children and adults in the public school system as a Psychiatric Social Worker and provides psychotherapy in a group practice located in the San Fernando Valley.

Leslie Danzer and Sox
I have been riding and teaching Special Education in both public and private schools for more than 20 years in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Michigan and California. When I retired I found the perfect combination of my passions - teaching therapeutic riding! I have been teaching at "Ride to Fly" in Palos Verdes for five years and am most excited to join Joan and Lisa in "Dream Catcher of Los Angeles".

Susan Janer
Susan loves horses and people. She says: "The special abilities that horses have to help and heal people are an inspiration to me; hard to express in words, but easy to see. Participating with Dream Catcher as a volunteer is personally rewarding, as well as an enjoyable experience."

Keith Hall
Keith Hall lived on a farm in Canada as a boy and grew to love horses. Since then horses have held a special place in his heart, and whenever possible, he's been involved with them. He is now excited to be able to combine his love of horses with his desire to help others live fuller lives. Keith also served 6 years in the U.S. Navy.

Ellie Zbojniewicz
I attend Northern Arizona University. My major is Psychology with a minor in Parks and Recreation. I hope someday to be a therapeutic riding instructor.

Briana R. is a 17 year old, 2 time IALHA National Champion on Maromito VIII, an Andalusian Stallion imported from Spain. She loves jumping out of the real world and into the horse world. "Volunteering is an amazing experience and I love it with all my heart."

Maya E. is one of the volunteers here at Dream Catcher. She loves working with children and loves horses, what better way than to work with children and be around horses at the same time! She is currently in 9th grade and having a blast being a freshman at the Archer school for girls. She volunteers every saturday and LOVES it!
